In the first issue of 2023 we look at the year ahead and talkabout moulding technology for intraocular and electronic lenses

INNOVATION AND TECHNOLOGICAL ADVANCEMENT

The disposable moulds are one of the main innovations used in our moulding technology. They are produced using the latest optical injection moulding technology in a cleanroom environment. The moulds are inspected and packaged by robots ready to be shipped and/or stored until needed in production using the automated fill & close line.

“2023 will be a busy year for Inviteq now that the development of the moulding technology has been completed. The latest version of the production line is being built in Europe and will be delivered at the client’ s facility at the end of the second quarter. A great achievement for our team and partners after 2 years of investment and efforts in R&D and development”

Derek Wilson

Managing Director

The fill & close production line offers a high level of flexibility (see below) and can be integrated into most production facilities as equipped with it own air filtration system. It requires 1 operator to process a batch of 576 pieces in just 1.2 hours with remote supervision.

  • Batch size flexibility (576 pieces max.)
  • Product and power flexibility intra batch
  • Traceability data recording/exporting
  • Automated 2D matrix code reading
  • Suitable for hydrophilic & hydrophobic
  • Suitable for finished and semi-finished lenses
  • Suitable for electronic lenses and blanks
  • Small footprint of 5 square metres

Producing standard hydrophobic lenses at a similar or lower cost than hydrophilic is now possible. Anywhere in the world !

2022 was a challenging year for Inviteq with the ongoing impact of the pandemic and the associated difficulties and travel restrictions. But we The fill & close production line offers a high level of flexibility (see below) and can be integrated into most production facilities as equipped with it own air filtration system. It requires 1 operator to process a batch of 576 pieces in just 1.2 hours with remote supervision.

Producing standard  hydrophobic lenses at a similar or lower cost than hydrophilic is now possible. Anywhere in the world ! successfully completed the development of the moulding technology, which was our main objective for 2022. We supported European clients with the registration of products in China and contributed to the development of one of the most complex and technically advanced ortho-k lenses on the market.
